What’s up, friends. I decided to make a new blog regarding my new college basketball career at New Hope Christian College. Feel free to ignore. I’m doing it basically for myself on long road trips. i.e. headed for Sacramento and Oakland on Thursday. The first of many long trips :)
We’re off to a decent start 2-0 on back to back nights. We’re a team filled with talented Freshman and just two Juniors. I started both games and had career highs in two categories: Minutes (36…wow) and assists (9) my points are down from high school as to be expected, but my all around game has been very strong. Through two games I’m averaging 8.5 points per game and 6.5 assists per game and probably around 3 rebounds per game…this is exactly the kind of numbers I aspired to put up as a Freshman. So needless to say, I’m very excited.
I hit four clutch free throws in the final minute to seal the victory in our home opener against Reed for an eleven point win. we had just seven players due to injuries and our two bigs fouled out, forcing us to play 5 guards and me and our Point Guard playing the posts in a 1-2-2 Zone…Stressful game.
8 pts. 5 asts. 4 rebs. 4-4 FT, 2-4 FG 36 mins.
The next night, before a 52 point victory, I was having problems with my hamstring that is still nagging me :(
9 pts. 9 asts. ? rebs. 0-1 FT, 3-6 FG, 1-4 3pt. FG ? mins.
Not a bad way to start the season at all :) I had no idea what to expect when I decided to play again last spring…and here I am starting for a 2-0 team in one of the roudiest gyms in small college ball. Everyone was shocked by the atmosphere at Cordiero Court. The D-Crew was crazy, the Rexius Center is a special place to be on game night!
